Therapy Services
We
offer individual therapy sessions which are customised to best suit the client. We use one or a combination of the following
proven techniques to assist clients:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a mindfulness-based approach that assists clients to accept and manage difficult thoughts
and feelings and to actively create a meaningful life based upon what is most important to them.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a process where clients learn to identify, challenge and replace unhelpful patterns of thoughts
and behaviour which impact on their wellbeing and relationships with others.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
IPT focusses on the impact (positive and negative) that interpersonal relationships have on one's wellbeing.
Clients are encouraged to explore their communication and interactions with others, and to make changes to enhance their relationships.
Play Therapy
Play Therapy is an ideal method of engaging childen. Adult clients are able to express themselves and work through issues by talking with
their therapist but children can find "talk therapy" somewhat intimidating. Play therapy can assist children to communicate with the
therapist at their own level and pace, and to learn new ways of thinking and doing in a safe and fun way.
Positive Behavioural Support (PBS)
PBS is an effective approach for encouraging appropriate behaviour in the face of difficult behaviour.
This technique is helpful in supporting anyone who had difficulty regulating their emotions and behaviour, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Social Skills Training (SST)
SST aims to enhance social competency by breaking down complex social behaviours into ideas and actions that are more
easily understood and applied by those who have social difficulties.
Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT)
SFBT is a method that emphasises one's capacity to find solutions to current issues by focussing
on one's vision for the future.
